Kanobii ("we," "us," or "our") is a family care coordination app that helps parents and caregivers organize care information, reminders, and handoffs for children. We take privacy seriously — especially because the information you share involves children and sensitive family health data.

This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it. By using Kanobii, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information we collect

Account information: When you create an account, we collect your name and email address via Firebase Authentication. You may optionally sign in with Google, which provides your Google account name and profile photo.

Child care profile data: You voluntarily provide information about your child including name, age, date of birth, allergies, medications, routines, emergency contacts, and healthcare providers. This data is used solely to power the app's care coordination features.

Care logs and check-ins: Notes, symptoms, reminders, and care events you log in the app are stored in your account to build the care timeline and enable caregiver handoffs.

Caregiver access: If you share a handoff link, limited care profile information is made accessible to the recipient for the duration you specify. You control what is shared and can revoke access at any time.

Usage data: We collect anonymous, aggregated usage data (screens visited, features used, crash reports) to improve the app. This data cannot identify you or your child.

We do not collect: Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, government IDs, or biometric data of any kind.

2. How we use your information

We do not use your personal data or your child's data for advertising, sell it to third parties, or use it to train AI models.

3. Children's privacy

Kanobii is designed for parents and adult caregivers. The app is not directed at children and children do not create accounts or directly use the app.

Information about children (names, ages, health data) is entered by the parent or guardian and stored in that adult's account. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from anyone under the age of 13.

If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, please contact us at privacy@kanobii.com and we will delete it promptly.

4. Private Wellness — special protections

Private Wellness entries are never included in caregiver handoffs, shared links, or any export. They are visible only to the account holder.

The Private Wellness section lets parents log their own mood, energy, sleep, and health notes. This data is stored under your account with a strict privacy flag. It is:

5. Data sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only in these limited circumstances:

6. Data storage and security

Your data is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore), which is hosted in secure Google Cloud data centers with encryption at rest and in transit.

We use Firebase Authentication with industry-standard encryption for account credentials. We do not store your password — Firebase handles authentication securely.

While we take reasonable precautions, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong password and keep your account credentials private.

7. Your rights and choices

You have the right to:

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the CCPA. Please contact us at privacy@kanobii.com to exercise your rights.

8. Subscriptions and payments

Kanobii Plus subscriptions are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store). We do not receive or store your payment card information. All billing is handled by the respective platform.

RevenueCat is used to verify subscription status. RevenueCat receives a masked identifier and subscription entitlement status — it does not receive your name, email, or care profile data.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you via an in-app notice and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
